Referring to our previous correspondence on the

subject of the Texas Company's Oil business in Hongkong and Southern China, we have the pleasure to inform you that our

negotiations with Messra.L.Reiss Bros. & Co., after con-

siderable vicissitudes, have now reached this point, that

they have instructed their house in Hongkong to continue to carry on the business, pending the arrangement here of a satisfactory agreement, which we are hopeful of eventually

concluding.
